Location: Buffalo Exchange, 51 Broadway, Denver, CO 80203
Client: Buffalo Exchange
Artist’s Involved: Pat Milbery & Pat McKinney
Medium: Aerosol on concrete
Size of Surface: 12’ x 75’
Duration of Installation: 3 days
Project Goals: Alleyways are often the first place one looks for some vibrant and unique street art in Denver but it’s rare when a business wants to transform an area most patrons would miss. Tasked with transforming the rear parking lot at the main Buffalo Exchange in Denver, the artists knew they had a bit more freedom with the subject matter than they would if they were painting the front of the store.
With the idea of creating a light, bright and whimsical design, the artists drew inspiration from the never-ending Colorado sky and the fluffy clouds that dot our bluebird landscape. While a relatively simple concept, the design added elements of pop art, shadows, clean lines and vibrant colors that created the perfect backdrop for social media posts. This piece has gotten a ton of traffic on social media as Buffalo Exchange uses it as the backdrop for many of their styling photos. Looking for a fun background for the perfect Instagram post?
